Scope note
Refers to a set of statistical techniques that analyze data sets with more than one variable when there is inherent interdependence between them. Techniques of multivariate analysis include cluster and factor analysis. Multivariate analysis is often used in archaeology, e.g. to aid classification of artifact compositional data.
